Kottakkal Ayurveda Kalasakadi Kashayam

Kalasakadi kashayam is a herbal decoction, used in the treatment of constipation, fever and low digestion. Kalasaka means Curry leaves. It is the main ingredient of this medicine. 

Uses of Kalasakadi Kashayam:

• Excellent in indigestion combined with constipation.
• Good in fever and promotes appetite.
• Alleviates even cholera if used in the early stages.
• It is also good in distaste, piles, colitis, irritable bowel syndrome and flatulence.

Ingredients of Kalasakadi Kashayam:

• Kalasaka (Murraya koenigii (Linn))- 1 part.
• Haritaki (Terminalia chebula)- 1 part.
• Shunti (Zingiber officinale)- 1 part.

Dosage of Kalasakadi kashayam:

1. 5-15 ml diluted with 15-45 ml of water twice daily, before food. Or as directed by the physician.
2. For children below 5 years dose is 3-5 ml, once or twice a day, mixed with 10-15 ml of water, once or twice a day, before food or as directed by doctor.
3. For children between 5 – 12 years of age, dose is 5 – 10 ml, mixed with 15 – 20 ml of water, once or twice a day, before food or as directed by doctor.
