Kottakkal Ayurveda Pitaka Churnam :

Pitaka Churnam is an Ayurvedic herbal powder medicine, used in the treatment of stomatitis, gingivitis, pharyngitis and oral disorders.

Uses of Pitaka Churnam :

• Used for application and gargle in stomatitis, gingivitis, pharyngitis, tonsillitis and dental diseases along with honey and ghee.
• Used for application in oral cavity and throat related complaints.
• Roga karma- danta, mukha, gala rogas
• Ropana – healing
• Lekhana – scraping

Ingredients of Pitaka Churnam:

• Daruharidra (Berberis aristata)- 1 part
• Saindhava (Rock salt)- 1 part
• Manashila (Realger)- 1 part
• Yavakshara (Alkali of Horddeum vulgare)- 1 part
• Haratala (Orpiment)- 1 part

Above ingredients are powdered separately and mixed together in specified quantity.

Direction for use of Pitaka Churnam:

Application over the wounds and sores in mouth mixing with honey or ghee.
Gargling.
